sleepy pete– Ahh, I didn’t notice your comment on mefi members. I figured since I saw Sean mention his Gramophone ownership in another mp3blog post that he wouldn’t mind.

OK, if we're listing favorites, there's Keep the Coffee Coming and Fabulist.

Don't forget Chromewaves, which, along with StG, is my favorite music blog site (along with my own, the aforementined Largehearted Boy).

Like free music? Yes, when it's done well. Evan Parker, Derek Bailey, John Coltrane, and any number of others! PS thanks for the post, empath.

ha ha ha haveanicesummer, yes it is worth noting (since I'm never sure about all the outing of "metafilter's own" around here, I didn't). There has got to be a name for this sort of thing....

Worth noting that Sean of Said the Gramophone is a metafilter member.

The writing on Said the Gramophone (mentioned above!) is pretty fantastic. I would pay them to write if I had the means or reason to pay them to write. You should consider the same. Don't forget: Soul Sides Aquarium Drunkard Peel is also worth checking out as an aggregator software (albeit Mac only).

Most of these seem to have embedded Flash players for the actual music, but for the ones that don't, playtagger is a handy bookmarklet to have. It embeds a mini mp3 player into the browser wherever there's a direct link to an mp3, so you can play the songs directly. Thanks, nice post...

All these sites are great, and I'm sure others know the ones that I'd mention ... I'm kinda afraid to link to my favorite open directory sites for fear that they get too much traffic/attention/shutdown. :( One favorite conventional MP3/music blog (not mentioned yet) is music (for robots).
